What is a CIC
A CIC, or Community Interest Company, is a limited company, with special additional features, created for the use of people who want to conduct a business or other activity for community benefit, and not purely for private advantage.
Just BU C.I.C is a non-profit organisation that invests its surplus back into the organisation towards our buildings, resources, and equipment. Therefore this benefits people from the community who use our services.

More Information
Background
The director of Just BU CIC had been involved in care directly from an early age and chose this as a career path. With over 25 years of experience in the social care field in day services, supported living services, respite and training he decided to set up an organisation that the people we support can be included in and also be involved in running its services.
The organisation was registered in October 2011 and opened the doors of its first community base in Leigh March 2012. We started to support individuals with various disabilities for example; autism, downs syndrome and physical disabilities, also supporting and enabling people in small groups.
Person Centred Methods
Through our referral process and using person centred methods we have been able to identify people’s needs; strengths and desires. Working closely with people we support their families and carers we have been able to create opportunities that are fulfilling, inclusive and educational. By adopting methods from advocacy and using tools to support people, Just BU and people’s families have found individuals have become more confident, independent and take pride in their service.
